By applying the same technical proficiency to our coating operation as we have to our optical molding process, Criterion now offers a proprietary, environmentally friendly, UV-cured hard coat. This application protects acrylic and polycarbonate optical products against scratches and wear.
Optical products with our unique hard coat can withstand normal handling during assembly and installation without scratching. Abrasion tests on Polycarbonate domes with hard coat have shown up to eight times the abrasion protection as compared to uncoated domes. In addition to improving scratch resistance, our hard coat reduces water spotting and improves chemical resistance to alcohols, ketones, and most acids and bases. Criterion hard coated domes can even be written on with a Sharpie® and then simply wiped clean with a paper towel.
In addition, Criterion offers Anti-Reflective and ESD Electromagnetic Dissipating coatings to meet customer needs. Other coatings may be available upon request.
